What we collect, and when

We only collect personal information that you give us, plus a small amount of technical information your browser sends automatically.

When you submit a quote or contact form

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address
• The message or project details you choose to include
• Your IP address and browser user agent, recorded with the submission to help us detect automated spam and abuse

When you simply browse the site

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and how they found us. This uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (city level), device and browser type, the pages you view, and the site or search that referred you. It is reported to us in aggregate, and we do not use it to identify you personally.

Why we collect it

• To prepare and send you the quote or information you asked for
• To contact you about your enquiry or booked work
• To keep a record of enquiries so nothing gets lost
• To protect the forms against spam and automated abuse
• To measure how the website is performing and improve it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your details for marketing unrelated to your enquiry.

Where it is stored, and who can see it

Form submissions are emailed to our team and stored in a secured database so that we have a backup record if an email fails to deliver. We use a small number of service providers to make that work:

• Vercel, which hosts the website and serves it to your browser
• Neon, which provides the database where enquiry records are stored
• Resend, which delivers the notification email to our inbox
• Google Analytics, which provides website usage statistics
• Upstash, which provides the rate limiting that stops the forms being flooded

Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We only use providers that offer appropriate security and data handling commitments.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as we need them to service your request and to meet our record keeping obligations, and no longer than seven years. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@protektsurfacesolutions.com.au or call (02) 8606 2842. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for making a request.

Cookies and opting out

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The website will still work normally if you do.

Making a complaint

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first using the details above so we can try to put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
